Home Warranty

While homeowners insurance iin Massachusetts is designed to protect your home against damage from natural disasters, theft, and other unforeseen events, it typically does not cover the cost of repairing or replacing major household appliances and systems that break down due to normal wear and tear. This is where a home warranty comes in. A home warranty is specifically designed to cover the cost of repairing or replacing covered appliances and systems in your home when they fail due to regular use. Additionally, home warranty plans often cover a wider range of items than homeowners insurance, such as HVAC systems, plumbing, and electrical systems.

MBy having both homeowners insurance and a home warranty in Massachusetts, you can ensure that you are fully protected against unexpected expenses related to your home.Having a home warranty can provide several benefits, including peace of mind and financial protection. With a home warranty, you can have the assurance that if a covered appliance or system breaks down, you won't have to pay for expensive repairs or replacements out of pocket. Instead, you can simply file a claim with your home warranty provider and they will send a licensed technician to diagnose and fix the issue. Additionally, some home warranty plans offer additional services such as 24/7 customer support and discounted upgrades to newer, more energy-efficient appliances. Overall, a home warranty can be a valuable investment for homeowners looking to protect their budget and avoid unexpected repair costs.

Hello and welcome to another edition of elevating with Marcia. I'm your host, Marcia Hawkins. And today we're going to be talking about car and home warranty programs. Now, we all have seen the memes on social media with regards to, completely being harassed about car, warranties and home warranties. And, yeah, I mean, I've seen so many on social media, I can't even remember all of them. However, they do find a, purpose and a place in our home and auto insurance, policies. Now, not to conflate the two, because they're completely two different products and accomplish, completely different goals. However, as an insurance agent, I obviously insure personal autos and home insurance. And I get many calls from clients, telling me that their stove broke and they want to put a claim into their homeowners. And unfortunately, in most cases, your homeowners policy does not cover that. That's not to say there may be a situation where it may be covered, but, for the most part, that type of coverage, a breakdown of an aging appliance, is not typically covered. And this is where a home warranty program can come into play. Secondly, same thing with your car. we all have warranties when we purchase them. Sometimes you get a small warranty when you purchase a used car. but a car warranty program is designed to come in and help you with, repairs made to your car that wouldn't otherwise be covered under your insurance or an unexpected expense, that you weren't planning on. So it really does serve a purpose to have that added layer of security with a home warranty policy, and a car warranty policy. So it's kind of an added layer of protection, if you will. Now, many of you will go to buy a, new tv, a, new refrigerator, a new stove, and a lot of times, in the checkout process, they will ask you if you would like to buy an extended warranty on that. And overall, depending on, how you feel about that, sometimes in some cases, this is how I look at it. If the cost of the warranty program is going to be, something that I feel financially would be in my best interest, I definitely would do it. However, in many cases, I'll give you the example of what I use. I never buy the extended warranty on a tv, given the fact that truthfully, the cost of tvs are so cheap now that in most cases, it's just easier to replace them. So in that instance, I don't take it, however, putting, an umbrella, if you will, for the lack of a better term. While it's not an insurance policy, it does provide financial benefits for, your home and some of the things that can go wrong with it that may not be protected under your homeowner's insurance policy. And it also provides financial protection against things that can, go wrong with your car. The car warranty is just an added layer of protection from unexpected repair bills and things that you just simply did not expect. And it kind of picks up where your normal, warranty from the manufacturer would end. So it's really a good idea to look into it right now. With, the cost of everything and most people just struggling to put food on the table and gas in their car, it can be a nice added layer of protection. And if you're an insurance agent, you know how many calls you get for claims that in some cases may not be covered under your personal auto or your home insurance, policy? That's it for now.
